Applied Skills Summary and Related Experiences

 

A bulleted summary of my span of management and skill areas follows below, with a more detailed summary of my operational experience on the page which follows.

  • Operations span of management - Responsible for over 2,000 employees across 14 facilities with over $300 million of profit and loss responsibility while VP of Operations at Plastech. Achieved 80% revenue growth with over 20% across the board operating margins. Managed new plant construction and launch through customer quality certification.

  • Performed quality turnarounds - Ford Escort - Chassis Subsystem worst-in-Ford to Best-in-Class; Mazda 6 - Q1 at Romulus Plant; Ford 500 - Q1 at Chicago Plant while Chassis Subsystem Engineer at Wayne Assembly and Plant/General Manager at Plastech.

  • Launched major customer programs - Ford - F150, Escort, F250, Heavy Truck (Brazil), Mustang, Focus, Chrysler - Town and Country, Ram, Wrangler, Liberty, Sebring, and Neon; GM - Traverse, Enclave, and Acadia; Toyota - RX330; and Mazda – 6; while VP of Launch and Transfers at Plastech and New Model Launch Manager for Ford in Brazil.

  • Technology partnerships - Texas Instruments DLP rear-projected instrument cluster for BMW concept, Ford 24/7 auto show vehicles, and Consumer Electronics Show (CES) while at Visteon. Biofuel feedstock and phytoremediation studies conducted in partnership with universities (MSU and U of D-M) and government. Process development for error proofing equipment on assemblies as well as production line prove out of innovative separation technologies (Pentair and Pall) while at TPA.

  • Managed multiple assembly and component programs - steering column sub-assembly and install, instrument panel subassembly and install, windshield install, engine decking, end of line powertrain testing, vehicle alignment, wheel balancing, stamping automation, body alignment, injection molding, blow molding, chemical processing, while an Industrial Engineer at Ford, Plant Manager at Plastech, and President at TPA.

  • Logistics management - Plant layout for raw material and finished goods inventory including JIT sequencing operations. Production scheduling and supply chain analysis were critical tasks performed as a Plant Manager at Plastech. Requested to teach supply chain management to MBA students at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

  • Information technology - Developed new web-based systems for engineering budget management, engineering change control management and global quote tracking for the Electronics Division of Visteon following the separation from Ford.  Adjunct professor of information technology and business at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

  • Financial management - Managed component and processing costs via a benchmarking system for every part and assembly to the cent.  Budgeted and managed all launch and transfer costs. All programs launched on-time and under budget while at Plastech and Ford Motor Company.

  • International management - Ford P131 and H215 vehicle launch programs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. MBA from ESC Rouen, France and studies at Corvinus Institute, Hungary and L'Universite de Caen, France.
